Advanced Gold Exploration hits Visible Gold at Doyle property near Batchawana
Advanced Gold Exploration Inc. has reported the discovery of visible gold during recent surface prospecting at its Doyle Property, located within the Batchawana Greenstone Belt (BGB). This significant find is the first instance of visible gold identified on the surface at Doyle, marking an exciting development for the company’s exploration efforts in the area.
Highlights of the Discovery
• Visible gold was identified on the surface for the first time at the Doyle Property.
• Surface samples from the area returned assays of 13.2 g/t and 9.82 g/t gold.
• The discovery is linked to a historic 1994 drill hole that reported visible gold and an assay of 49.8 g/t gold at 80 meters depth.
• Exploration conducted by Superior Exploration of Sault Ste Marie led to this new find, revealing a potential northeast (NE) trending structure that could host further gold mineralization.
Insightful Exploration Work
The new discovery at Doyle is credited to meticulous surface examination by the contractor Superior Exploration. According to CEO Jim Atkinson, “This new discovery of visible gold on surface at Doyle has excited our staff. The interpreted relationship of this visible gold to features indicated by the LiDAR suggests a NE trending extensional structure. If further work in the area supports this, it opens a whole new area for exploration, as previous efforts mainly focused on NNW trending structures, potentially overlooking other promising zones.”
The visible gold is associated with intense quartz veining and silicification. A petrographic study has been initiated to further understand the distribution of gold and alterations in this mineralized area.
LiDAR Survey and Structural Insights
An earlier LiDAR survey conducted in 2022 indicates that the visible gold aligns with a northeast-trending linear feature. Advanced Gold’s geological team believes this feature could represent an extensional structure branching off from a primary NNW-trending shear zone—a favorable site for gold mineralization. This structural insight points to untapped potential for gold deposits in previously unexamined orientations on the property.
Looking Ahead
CEO Atkinson highlighted the importance of hands-on exploration, noting, “We are very pleased with the prospecting, geological mapping, and sampling work carried out by Superior Exploration. This discovery underlines the value of ‘Boots on the Ground’ in mineral exploration.” Advanced Gold is now planning further detailed prospecting and sampling for the upcoming spring season. The company will also revisit existing LiDAR and airborne geophysical data across the Doyle Property to identify additional potential extensional structures.
Next Steps
This discovery has encouraged Advanced Gold to expand its exploration efforts beyond the previously studied NNW-oriented structures. The company is optimistic about uncovering additional mineralized zones and will continue to build on these findings with thorough exploration and analysis in the coming months.
