Canada Nickel Expands Regional Nickel Resources in Timmins District

Canada Nickel Company Inc. has announced additional drilling results from its Deloro, Bannockburn, Midlothian, and Nesbitt properties. The company’s 2024 exploration campaign encompassed over 118,000 metres of drilling across 14 properties within 100 kilometres of the Timmins mining camp.
“Today’s results from four separate regional properties continue to demonstrate the scale of the sulphide nickel potential of the Timmins Nickel District,” said CEO Mark Selby. “Midlothian is showing consistent grades with an average grade that is the highest to date of all our regional properties. Bannockburn continues to yield excellent results, including the identification of new high-grade targets. Meanwhile, we are successfully extending resources at Deloro and resuming drilling at Nesbitt, which is just seven kilometres from Crawford and poised to become an additional resource by mid-2025.”
Regional Exploration Highlights
Bannockburn Property
Located 65 kilometres south of Timmins, Bannockburn features multiple high-grade nickel targets. The B-zone, a bulk tonnage target, extends approximately 1.6 kilometres in strike length and up to 700 metres wide. Recent infill drilling of nine holes confirmed strong nickel mineralization, with results from seven holes released.
• A single hole in the D-zone, northwest of the B-zone, demonstrated mineralized ultramafic continuity nearly 1 kilometre from the main zone.
Higher-grade zones, including the C-zone and F-zone, remain promising. Canada Nickel plans to target the F-zone during a summer 2025 drilling program following strong geophysical results from BAN24-18 and BAN24-21.
Midlothian Property
Drilling at Midlothian yielded exceptional results, including a 470-metre mineralized interval grading 0.31% nickel, with a higher-grade segment of 13.5 metres grading 0.41% nickel in hole MID24-15.
Deloro Property
Located near Timmins, Deloro continues to deliver robust mineralization. All 11 drill holes intersected significant intervals, including hole DEL24-28 with 371 metres grading 0.27% nickel and 39 metres at 0.30% nickel.
Nesbitt Property
Drilling resumed at Nesbitt, with notable results including 382 metres grading 0.22% nickel, and a higher-grade interval of 27 metres at 0.27% nickel in NES24-13. Nesbitt is expected to be included in the company’s expanding resource base by mid-2025.
Looking Ahead
Canada Nickel plans to release eight additional regional resource estimates by mid-2025. The Timmins Nickel District is emerging as a major hub for nickel exploration, with current resource estimates already published for Reid and Deloro and upcoming results anticipated from Bannockburn, Mann Central, Mann West, Midlothian, Nesbitt, and Texmont.
With continued success across multiple properties, the company’s exploration program underscores the immense potential of the Timmins Nickel District to support future nickel production and drive economic growth.
