Canada Nickel finds second High-Grade Sulphide Interval at Bannockburn

Nov 27, 2024

Canada Nickel Company has reported a second significant intersection of net-textured sulphide mineralization at its Bannockburn Property, located 65 kilometres south of Timmins, Ontario. The follow-up drilling at the F-Zone confirms the presence of high-grade nickel and supports the property’s potential for substantial mineralization.

“This second intersection at Bannockburn’s F-Zone demonstrates the high-grade potential we identified in the initial drilling and geophysical surveys,” said Mark Selby, CEO of Canada Nickel. “We are encouraged by the strong correlation between our geophysical targets and drilling results, and we look forward to expanding our exploration efforts to uncover additional opportunities on the property.”

Bannockburn F-Zone Discovery

The initial discovery, drill hole BAN24-18, intersected 4.0 metres grading 3.95% nickel, 0.40% copper, and 1.08 g/t palladium & platinum, within a broader 12.0-metre interval grading 1.61% nickel. Following a borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) survey, a new target was identified approximately 130 metres below this initial discovery and was tested with drill hole BAN24-20.

Drill hole BAN24-20 successfully intersected 12.7 metres of strongly mineralized serpentinized peridotite, containing net-textured to semi-massive sulphides, at a depth of 470 metres. This interval transitions into disseminated nickel mineralization extending to the end of the hole. Preliminary analysis using an XRF analyzer confirmed the presence of nickel, and samples have been submitted for assay.

Continued Exploration and Development

A BHEM survey is underway to map the continuity and extent of the high-grade horizons encountered in BAN24-18 and BAN24-20. Canada Nickel plans to use the results to guide additional drilling and further test the F-Zone and other geophysical targets at Bannockburn.

“We see Bannockburn as an excellent complement to our Crawford Project,” Selby added. “The success we’ve achieved so far highlights the potential for higher-grade zones that could enhance the property’s economic and operational profile.”

Bannockburn Property Highlights

The Bannockburn Property hosts several zones of nickel mineralization:

B-Zone: A large tonnage, low-grade zone currently undergoing infill drilling, with an initial resource estimate expected by Q1 2025.

F-Zone and C-Zone: Higher-grade nickel mineralization with significant exploration potential.

Located near key infrastructure and the mining hub of Timmins, Bannockburn supports Canada Nickel’s broader vision of advancing low-carbon nickel production in Northern Ontario. The Company remains committed to sustainable exploration practices and fostering local partnerships.

This discovery reinforces Canada Nickel’s position as a leader in unlocking new nickel resources for the emerging clean energy economy.
