Champion Electric Expands Lithium Mineralized Corridor at Quebec Lithium Project with Promising Spodumene Results
exploration efforts at the Quebec Lithium Project, located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay territory of Quebec. Spodumene grain counts from 360 of the 558 till samples collected during the 2024 field program point to the potential presence of a larger spodumene system within the project area.
“Our 2024 exploration has successfully bridged the Western and Powerline Prospects, expanding our lithium mineralized corridor to over 10 kilometres,” said Jonathan Buick, President and CEO of Champion Electric. “These results continue to support our theory that a larger system exists nearby. We are moving steadily towards identifying its exact location. The till samples and spodumene grains align with our earlier program results, further validating our ongoing exploration strategy.”
The reported findings include a cluster of nine till samples from the Western Prospect, with spodumene grain counts ranging from 3 to 30 grains. These samples extend northeast (up ice) for approximately 1.5 kilometers from Trench 12, the most northeasterly trench of the 2024 field season. Additionally, five till samples were collected near the Power Line Prospect, each reporting a single spodumene grain, while 16 other samples revealed counts ranging from 1-2 grains within 3.5 kilometers of the Powerline Prospect.
Overview of the 2024 Field Program
The Quebec Lithium Project is located near some of the most notable lithium occurrences in the region, including Patriot Battery Metals’ Shaakichiuwaanaan Project (formerly the Corvette Project) and Winsome Resources’ Cancet Discovery. Champion Electric’s 2024 fieldwork began northeast of its recent mineralized pegmatite discovery, focusing on till sampling, boulder prospecting, mapping, trenching, and channel sampling across the new boulder field. The Company reported significant lithium findings from initial sampling.
As the exploration team continues to close in on key spodumene indicators, Champion Electric is preparing for additional work to further define trenching and drill targets along the expanded lithium corridor.
“We are eager to receive results from the remainder of the 2024 till samples in the coming months. These will enhance our understanding of the mineralized system and refine our future exploration targets,” Buick added.
