Detour Gold agrees to KL Gold takeover

Shareholders of Detour Gold have approved the company’s takeover by KL Gold. The $4.34Billion deal was approved by both boards at separate meetings this morning. Detour shareholders voted 86 per cent in favour of the proposal, while nearly 99 per cent of the shares voted by of Kirkland Lake shareholders also backed the deal.
