First Nation community exercising caution after Detour Gold mine employee tests positive for COVID
A curfew is in place at the Taykwa Tagamou First Nation in the wake of news that a resident had been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case. The resident is in quarantine waiting for test results and close contacts of the resident are self isolating.
According to a community news release, TTN learned Aug. 5 that one of its resident had been in close contact with a Detour Lake Gold Mine employee who has tested positive for the virus.
The curfew went into effect in the community at 10 p.m. Aug. 6.
