Kenorland Resumes Drilling at Chebistuan, Quebec

Kenorland Minerals has announced the commencement of its Winter 2025 drill program at the Chebistuan Project in the northern Abitibi greenstone belt, Quebec. The project is held under an exploration agreement with Newmont.
Kenorland will complete up to 3,500 meters of drilling across nine holes at the Deux Orignaux target area, following up on a successful 2023 campaign that discovered a mineralized syenite intrusion. One hole from the previous program (23DODD005) returned 157.20 meters grading 0.41 g/t Au, including 20.61 meters at 0.97 g/t Au.
"This second phase of drilling at Deux Orignaux will focus on the lateral and down-dip extensions of the mineralized syenite, as well as additional syenite plugs identified by geophysical surveys," said Zach Flood, CEO of Kenorland Minerals. Drilling is expected to wrap up in early March.
Key Geological Features
-
Located within the Abitibi greenstone belt.
-
Hosted along a major east-west structure possibly linked to the Sunday Lake Deformation Zone.
-
Mineralization found within a syenite intrusion along the boundary of clastic sedimentary rocks and volcanics.
Initial property-wide geochemical surveys in 2020 identified anomalous gold and multi-element geochemistry in glacial overburden, prompting subsequent airborne magnetics, IP surveys, and initial drilling in early 2023.
Project Background
Chebistuan was acquired via map staking in December 2019 and optioned to Newmont in July 2020. Newmont has since earned a 51% interest after completing Phase 1 exploration requirements, and may earn up to 80% by defining a 1.5Moz gold resource through a pre-feasibility study. Kenorland maintains a 20% carried interest until construction decisions are made.
