Kenorland shows promising results from Frotet Summer Drill Program in Northern Quebec

Nov 7, 2024

Kenorland Minerals has announced the results from its 2024 summer drill program at the Frotet Project in northern Quebec, revealing high-grade gold intercepts across several mineralised structures within the Regnault system. “These results reinforce the potential for additional mineralisation at depth within the Regnault gold system, and our work continues to refine targets for further exploration,” said CEO Zach Flood.

The summer program included six drill holes totaling 3,266 meters. Highlights include:

Drill Hole 24RDD223: 3.30 meters at 26.67 g/t Au, including 0.60 meters at 137.30 g/t Au (R6)

Drill Hole 24RDD224: 6.35 meters at 9.78 g/t Au, including 0.40 meters at 112.70 g/t Au (R4)

Drill Hole 24RDD223: Additional intercepts of 5.40 meters at 7.35 g/t Au and 1.90 meters at 18.40 g/t Au (R6)

The program’s primary goal was to test step-out targets informed by an updated geologic model, with drill holes aimed at down-dip extensions along the north-dipping R1 and R6 trends and south-dipping R4 trend. Drill hole 24RDD223, a 70-meter step-out, intersected notable mineralisation along the R6 trend, while 24RDD224 returned significant results along the R4 structure, extending the known mineralisation 100 meters eastward and down dip from previous drilling.

The updated geologic model for Regnault highlights areas of structural complexity, particularly where the north-dipping R1 and R6 structures intersect with the south-dipping R4 veins. This modeling provides a refined understanding of the system, guiding future step-out and infill drilling to support an initial resource estimate. “The updated model indicates considerable potential for expanding the known mineralisation, especially where vein sets intersect, offering a clear direction for upcoming drill campaigns,” Flood noted.

To support the permitting and development of an exploration decline, drill hole 24RDD226ED was completed to provide geotechnical and baseline data. This hole intersected the R6 mineralised structure at depth, returning 6.35 meters at 1.31 g/t Au, including 0.30 meters at 11.10 g/t Au, further refining the exploration decline design.

Geological Modelling

Kenorland’s systematic 3D geological modelling combines structural, lithological, and geochemical data to map the Regnault mineralised zones. The updated model defines high-grade (>2.50 g/t Au) and low-grade (>0.30 g/t Au) mineralisation shells, focusing on shear-hosted quartz-sulphide veins and disseminated sulphide halos. This model will direct priority drilling as the project advances toward an initial resource estimate, highlighting areas requiring additional infill drilling to refine resource definition.
