Kenorland Uncovers New Targets in Northwestern Ontario
By Kevin Vincent
Kenorland Minerals has completed a significant regional exploration campaign across its Flora, Western Wabigoon, Algoman, and Stormy Lake projects in Northwestern Ontario. The 2024 field season saw the collection of approximately 12,200 till samples over 263,500 hectares, with multiple priority targets emerging in historically underexplored areas.
“We’re very excited to see several large-scale regional targets take shape in areas which have seen limited, if any, historical exploration,” said Zach Flood, Kenorland’s President and CEO. “Our grassroots exploration strategy continues to deliver opportunities for new discoveries. The focus next year will be to develop these regional targets to drill stage.”
Exploration Highlights
Flora Project
The Flora Project, covering 57,706 hectares, yielded two priority targets along the Wabigoon Fault:
• F1 Target: A 7 km gold-in-till anomaly within sheared diorite, associated with gold and molybdenum.
• F2 Target: Located 16 km southwest of F1, featuring strong gold and tungsten correlations.
Prospecting also confirmed a previously undocumented spodumene-bearing pegmatite dyke, with rock samples grading up to 4.62% Li2O.
Western Wabigoon Project
Spanning 69,008 hectares, the Western Wabigoon Project identified a 19 km trend of gold-in-till anomalism along the Manitou-Dinorwic Deformation Zone (MDdz).
• W1 Target: Continuous high-tenor gold-in-till results with associated pathfinder elements.
• W2 and W3 Targets: Additional anomalous zones defined by geochemical signatures.
The property’s location at the intersection of three major deformation zones enhances its exploration potential.
Algoman Project
At the 94,437-hectare Algoman Project, till surveys outlined two distinct trends of gold anomalies:
• A1 Target: Located at the intersection of the Quetico Fault and Rainy Lake-Seine River Fault system.
• A2 Target: Along trend with high-grade gold occurrences, including a confirmed 187.6 g/t Au sample from the Black Vein Showing.
Stormy Lake Project
Covering 42,366 hectares, the Stormy Lake Project revealed anomalous gold trends associated with the Mosher Bay-Washeibemaga Deformation Zone. Next steps for the property are being planned.
Royalties and Strategic Positioning
Kenorland has also granted a 2% net smelter return (NSR) royalty on the Flora, Algoman, and Western Wabigoon projects to its subsidiary, further strengthening its royalty portfolio, which includes:
• A 4% NSR royalty on the Frotet Project in Quebec, hosting the Regnault gold system.
• A 2% NSR royalty on the South Uchi Project in Ontario.
About Kenorland Minerals
Kenorland Minerals is a well-financed mineral exploration company advancing early-stage projects through systematic exploration. Its approach has led to notable discoveries, including the Regnault gold system in Quebec. With a robust portfolio and a clear focus on greenfields exploration, Kenorland continues to unlock potential across North America.
This year’s results highlight the company’s ability to identify significant new targets in underexplored regions, setting the stage for future drilling campaigns in 2025.
