Kirkland Lake Discoveries completes Phase 3 drilling at Goodfish-Kirana with Promising Results

By Kevin Vincent
Kirkland Lake Discoveries has successfully concluded its Phase 3 drill program at the Goodfish-Kirana property, focusing on the Jo Zone and Hargreaves shaft. The campaign totaled five diamond drill holes covering 1,187 meters, with significant anomalous gold mineralization intersected at both target areas.
“The results from our Phase 3 drill program at the Jo Zone and Hargreaves shaft highlight the immense potential of our Goodfish-Kirana property,” said Stefan Sklepowicz, CEO. “The extensive gold mineralization at the Jo Zone, independent of rock type, is particularly promising, while the newly identified gold zone in the Hargreaves footwall represents an exciting and untapped opportunity. These findings validate our exploration strategy and strengthen our commitment to unlocking the value of this district-scale land package.”
Jo Zone: Extensive Gold Mineralization
Drill hole KLD24-27 at the Jo Zone revealed extensive gold mineralization over 37 meters, with highlights including:
• 4.5 m at 0.621 g/t Au
• 13.66 m at 0.287 g/t Au
• 1.2 m at 3.82 g/t Au
• 5.6 m at 0.894 g/t Au
• 5.23 m at 1.035 g/t Au
• 7.29 m at 1.334 g/t Au
The Jo Zone shear spans a strike length of 650 meters and extends to a vertical depth of 375 meters. Notably, previous drilling intersected 1.22 g/t Au over 74 meters in the footwall, an area yet to be followed up on.
Hargreaves Shaft: New Gold Zone Discovery
Drilling at the Hargreaves shaft confirmed strong potassic-hematite alteration in syenite intercalated with Timiskaming conglomerate, similar to mineralization at the Macassa and Young-Davidson mines. Highlights include:
• Anomalous gold values throughout much of the syenite intersected in hole KLD24-23, which aligns with an open-ended east-west IP anomaly.
• Hole KLD24-26 revealed silicification, bleaching, and pyrite mineralization in a gabbro, indicating a previously untested gold zone in the Hargreaves vein footwall.
Future Exploration Plans
The results at both the Jo Zone and Hargreaves shaft underscore the exploration potential of the Goodfish-Kirana property. KLDC plans to build on these findings with additional follow-up drilling and geophysical surveys to further delineate mineralization.
About Goodfish-Kirana
The Goodfish-Kirana property is strategically located in proximity to the Kirkland Lake Main Break, a structure responsible for over 28 million ounces of historic gold production. With geological similarities to world-class deposits in the region, the property is positioned as a high-potential exploration asset in the heart of Ontario’s gold belt.
