McFarlane Lake expands High-Grade Gold Zone at McMillan Mine

Feb 10, 2025

McFarlane Lake Mining has announced additional results from its ongoing diamond drilling program at the 100% owned McMillan Gold Mine, 70 km west of Sudbury, Ontario. The latest assays confirm a broad zone of gold mineralization, reinforcing the mine’s potential for high-grade gold deposits.

Drill hole MLMM-25-04, positioned 50 metres below and 20 metres west of MLMM-08-05W1, was designed to test a Borehole Electromagnetic (EM) anomaly. Results returned 2.0 g/t gold over 51.6 metres, including 3.1 g/t gold over 21.15 metres. Within this interval, three high-grade zones were identified:

  • 5.5 g/t gold over 7.55 metres

  • 5.5 g/t gold over 2.8 metres

  • 4.8 g/t gold over 4.4 metres

Previously announced results from MLMM-08-05W1 (February 3, 2025) intersected 2.7 g/t gold over 31.35 metres, including 5.6 g/t gold over 13 metres, with a high-grade core of 10.7 g/t gold over 5 metres. Both holes confirm the presence of a wide quartz-sulphide stockwork zone that remains open along strike and at depth.

CEO Mark Trevisiol expressed optimism about the discovery:

"We are excited by what we see. To get high-grade gold intercepts within a wide zone of mineralization is a spectacular result. Our team is now focused on exploring this trend with step-out drill holes to test its continuity along strike and at depth."

The quartz stockwork hosts sulphide minerals, including chalcopyrite, pyrite, pyrrhotite, and arsenopyrite. Base metal assay results for copper, nickel, and cobalt are pending. The company’s drill program continues to evaluate the structure and mineralization trends at McMillan.

Next Steps Based on recent drill and geophysical data, McFarlane believes the main ore zone dips steeply northward and plunges eastward. Further drilling will target these extensions to define the scale of the deposit.

McFarlane Lake Mining is focused on developing its portfolio of past-producing gold properties, including McMillan and Mongowin (Ontario), West Hawk Lake (Ontario-Manitoba border), and High Lake (Ontario-Manitoba border). The company also holds the Michaud/Munro property, 115 km east of Timmins, along the Golden Highway.
