Midland Exploration Inc announces a New Nickel-Copper Zone on the Tête Nord Project, Québec

Apr 30, 2023

Midland announced it discovered a new intersection of nickel-copper (“Ni-Cu”) occurrence during a 16-hole (3,450m) drilling program completed by Rio Tinto Exploration Canada Inc. (RTEC) on the Tête Nord property located near the town of La Tuque, Québec.

Significant Ni-Cu mineralisation intervals were encountered from surface to 79m in drill hole MDLD0015. Drill hole MDLD0015 intersected, from 14m to 80m downhole depth, up to 7 layers with Ni-Cu mineralization within altered gabbro horizons.

Drill intercepts grading up to 1.10% Ni, 0.71% Cu over 2.68m were encountered within varied textured gabbro. The new Santos zone is located 8 km north of the former Lac Edouard Ni-Cu mine. The Santos zone remains open at depth and is accompanied by an off-hole anomaly. A geophysical gravity survey is currently underway and diamond drilling to follow up on this new discovery is expected to resume by August 2023.

Previously on November 15, 2022 Midland reported the start of a maiden drilling program by RTEC on the Tête Nord property to investigate a series of VTEM targets identified during the 2022 survey (see: https://lnkd.in/eqTzK9HJ).

The Tête Nord property is currently wholly owned by Midland but is under option by RTEC since December 2021. The Tête-Nord property is now composed of 1,286 claims covering a surface area of 74,600 ha located in the Upper Mauricie area of central Québec (see: https://lnkd.in/dughYWqa).
