Pan-American Climate Statement Signed in Ontario During Climate Summit of the Americas

During the Climate Summit of the Americas, which took place in Toronto from July 7-9, Ontario and 22 other states and regions signed the first-ever Pan-American action statement on climate change. The Climate Action Statement signing, led by Premier Kathleen Wynne, includes commitments to support carbon pricing, ensure public reporting, take action in key sectors and meet existing greenhouse gas reduction agreements. Signatories included representatives from states and regions across the Americas, including Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Canada.
 
The Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) hosted the Climate Change Summit of the Americas that brought together well-known experts including Premier Kathleen Wynne; Al Gore - Chairman, The Climate Reality Project and Former U.S. Vice President; and Felipe Calderón - Chair, Global Commission on the Economy and Climate and Former President of Mexico.
