New scholarship from Young Mining Professionals Toronto chapter

May 13, 2020

Young Canadians looking to establish a career in Canada's prosperous mining industry will soon have access to a new scholarship fund.

Young Mining Professionals Toronto has announced a new scholarship initiative under its YMP Scholarship Fund for 2020: the Mining Lottery Scholarship. The Lottery is currently funded with $15,000 and is seeking to grow its impact with new partners. The Lottery is a part of YMP Fund's broader $60,000 scholarship program for 2020, the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

About the Mining Lottery Scholarship
The Lottery's purpose is to attract and develop Canada's best and brightest to further their education within our natural resource industry. The individual grants from the Lottery will be $500 with the sole criteria being confirmed current enrollment in an earth sciences or mining engineering program at a Canadian post-secondary institution for 2020/21.
Winners of the Lottery will be selected at random.  Draws will begin June 1st and occur biweekly until the funds run out.   More information on the Lottery and how to apply can be seen here: www.ympscholarships.com.

Students: Apply Here for The Mining Lottery!

The Lottery's goal is to shrink the mining industry's talent gap, which is undergoing new and unprecedented challenges.  In particular, students and young people are facing disproportionate unemployment due to COVID-19. It is now more important than ever for our industry to respond and encourage students to study earth sciences and mining engineering.

About YMP Scholarship Fund
The Lottery Scholarship is just one of many scholarships within YMP's broader scholarship program. YMP Scholarship Fund donates 100% of its receipts to students via its scholarship program. YMP Fund is a registered charity which is eligible to offer tax receipts to its donors. Individuals and corporations who would like to support or create a scholarship are encouraged to contact us directly at scholarships@youngminingprofessionals.com

YMP Fund's mandate is to attract young Canadians to the resource exploration and mining industry by supporting their academic studies in mining-related post-secondary programs. YMPT would like to thank its funding partners listed below, as these scholarships are only made possible through their generous support.
