O3 Mining Launches Drilling Program in two locations at Its Marban Project

Mar 23, 2023

O3 Mining Inc. announced the deployment of two drills at Marban Project, that will focus on the Upper Camflo area and Orion deposit on the company's site near Val D'Or, Quebec. The drilling is part of a 24,800-metre exploration program on the Marban Project.
O3 Mining will drill 1,500 metres near the surface on the Upper Camflo area along the up-dip extension of a gold-bearing structure identified during the compilation of historical exploration drilling completed by Barrick Gold on the former Camflo mine.
In addition, O3 Mining will also drill 900 metres near the surface around the former Orion mine to confirm ore material left above and below the historical mining stopes.
"We are encouraged by the compilation work completed on the Camflo and Orion deposits and are excited to continue our drilling campaign on our Marban property to expand resources, “said Jose Vizquerra, O3 Mining's President and Chief Executive Officer. “Proximal to the historic Camflo mine, Upper Camflo and Orion offer the possibility of generating near surface resources in the halo of the past producers."
The compilation of Barrick Gold's historical drilling revealed parallel zones north of the Camflo mine. One of the zones was intersected by a series of holes drilled horizontally and toward the north from the border of the property 700 metres from the surface. The planned program will test an area of 800 metres along the strike for near surface gold mineralization from the border of the property.
The Orion mine operated from 1987 to 1990 and produced 22,367 gold ounces from 131,000 tonnes at 5.3 g/t Au.
The zone’s outcropping and surface channel samples revealed a high-grade and wide gold zone where the best channel samples returned 21.8 g/t Au over 11.2 metres (Press Release – September 6, 2022). The planned program comprises three drill holes to validate historical high-grade assays outside the near surface mining stops.

O3 Mining Inc., is an Osisko Group company, that is exploring for gold with the intent to build an producing gold mine near Val D'Or Québec, Canada. O3 Mining Inc. is proposing the construction and operation of a new open-pit gold mine located in the Dubuisson Sector of Val-d'Or, Quebec. The Marban Mining Project will include the mining of three open pits, the construction of a new ore processing plant, new waste rock, tailings and overburden stockpiles, the relocation of an existing road and the diversion of a permanent watercourse. The project would have a maximum ore production capacity of 16,400 tonnes per day and a 10-year life span.
O3 Mining benefits from the support of previous mine-building successes and the expertise of the Osisko team, as it grows towards being a gold producer with several multi-million-ounce deposits in Québec.
