Québec Innovative Materials Strengthens Temiskaming Hydrogen Camp with Record Resources Collaboration

Québec Innovative Materials Corp. has announced a strategic partnership with Record Resources, coinciding with Record’s acquisition of a key property in the Temiskaming hydrogen camp, adjacent to QIMC’s major hydrogen discovery. This collaboration solidifies QIMC’s leadership in natural hydrogen exploration and enhances its focus on advancing development at the St. Bruno de Guigues Natural Hydrogen project in Quebec.
As part of the agreement, QIMC will receive 6.6 million shares of Record Resources and a 1% Gross Revenue Royalty (GRR) on the property.
Advancing Hydrogen Exploration in Temiskaming
“The option to acquire a key property is a transformative step for Record as we solidify our presence in the Temiskaming hydrogen camp,” said Michael Judson, CEO of Record Resources. “Our strengthened relationship with QIMC brings invaluable expertise and innovation to our operations. Together, we are committed to advancing hydrogen exploration and contributing to a sustainable energy future.”
The Lorrain-Bucke claim blocks acquired by Record are situated in a region underpinned by Huronian Group sedimentary and volcanic formations, which overlay Archean metavolcanic and metasedimentary units of the Superior Province. This area is within the Lake Temiskaming Graben structure, a tectonic feature recognized for its hydrogen resource potential due to its mantle-derived volatile-rich sources.
These claims are further supported by ultramafic rock formations in neighboring Quebec, which exhibit magnetic and gravity anomalies extending into Ontario. Such geological characteristics are consistent with significant natural hydrogen potential.
Collaboration to Accelerate Hydrogen Development
This partnership enables Record to leverage QIMC’s advanced exploration methodologies and strengthens the collective ability of both companies to capitalize on the Temiskaming hydrogen camp’s unique geological advantages.
John Karagiannidis, CEO and Director of QIMC, emphasized the strategic nature of the collaboration:
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Record Resources and contribute our proven hydrogen exploration methodologies and know-how to the Temiskaming hydrogen camp. Together, we are laying the groundwork for Ontario and Quebec to emerge as cornerstones of the Canadian and North American hydrogen economy.”
Driving Innovation in Clean Energy
QIMC’s recent collaboration with DMED’s advanced extraction technology further underscores its commitment to innovation in clean energy solutions. These initiatives position QIMC and its partners at the forefront of unlocking Canada’s natural hydrogen potential.
Under the terms of the agreement, Record Resources will issue 6.6 million shares to QIMC and grant a 1% GRR from hydrogen or other mineral product sales. Record retains the option to purchase 50% of the GRR for $1 million.
