Thunder Gold Reports Record Gold Values from Channel Sampling at Tower Mountain
By Kevin Vincent
Thunder Gold Corp has released exceptional results from saw-cut, continuous channel samples at the P-Target on the Tower Mountain Gold Property, located 50 kilometres west of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
“The gold assay results demonstrate excellent continuity,” stated Wes Hanson, President and CEO of Thunder Gold. “TMCH24-01 is the highest value interval above a 1.0 g/t cut-off ever reported at Tower Mountain, and these results highlight the potential for higher-grade mineralization to complement existing low-grade deposits on the western margin of the TMIC.”
Channel Sampling Highlights
• TMCH24-01: 4.93 g/t Au over 24.87 metres, including 9.12 g/t Au over 12.66 metres.
• TMCH24-02: 2.78 g/t Au over 20.57 metres, including 5.44 g/t Au over 8.6 metres.
• TMCH24-03: 1.28 g/t Au over 4.91 metres, including 4.14 g/t Au over 1.19 metres.
Key Insights:
• Over 82% of the reported intervals returned grades >0.30 g/t Au, significantly higher than the historical frequency from the project’s 40,000 drill core samples.
• The results represent continuous gold mineralization on surface, with minimal influence from outlier values.
Sampling and Exploration Details
The channel samples were collected from newly exposed outcrop at the P-Target, located on the eastern margin of the Tower Mountain Intrusive Complex (TMIC). Channels were spaced 7.5 metres apart and cut to a depth of 5-7 centimetres, with samples taken every metre. A total of 51 samples were assayed, with grades ranging from 0.054 g/t Au to 25.3 g/t Au.
Mapping and sampling, combined with recent soil sampling, suggest the P-Target mineralization could extend over 500 metres to the southeast, coinciding with a significant gold-in-soil anomaly.
Next Steps: Southeast Expansion Drill Program
Thunder Gold plans to drill eight shallow diamond holes targeting the southeast extension of the P-Target mineralization. Key details:
• Planned Drill Sections: Four sections, 25 metres apart, with two holes per section.
• Target Depths: 30 metres and 75 metres from surface.
• Estimated Completion: Mid-December 2024.
These results and the planned exploration program reinforce the potential of the P-Target as a high-grade addition to Tower Mountain’s resource portfolio. Thunder Gold continues to advance its exploration strategy, leveraging strong geological indicators to unlock value across the TMIC perimeter.
