Weekapaug Lithium Partners with Aster Funds for Regional Hydrogen Survey
Weekapaug Lithium Ltd., a Canadian exploration company, has announced a new partnership with Aster Funds Ltd. to conduct a large-scale remote sensing gas survey over 12,000 square kilometers. This survey will target Weekapaug Lithium’s current hydrogen claims in Ontario, as well as the recent hydrogen discovery in Quebec. The goal is to identify specific hydrogen targets across the region, with plans to expand into British Columbia and Alberta for further exploration.
Aster will deploy its QDFC Predictive Fingerprint Target Mapping algorithms and artificial intelligence to analyze known hydrogen occurrences. By identifying similar spectral responses, this cutting-edge technology will help Weekapaug refine its exploration strategy and enhance its understanding of hydrogen and other gas prospects in the region. The survey will focus on the main graben areas of Temiskaming.
“Partnering with Aster is a key step in advancing our exploration efforts near QIMC’s recent discovery,” said Marc Branson, CEO of Weekapaug. “Their technology impressed us, and we’ve extended the program to help identify new hydrogen targets across multiple provinces, including Ontario, Quebec, BC, and Alberta. We aim to build a diversified hydrogen exploration portfolio across Canada.”
In addition, Aster will perform Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) remote sensing surveys over 3,600 square kilometers in the Temiskaming region, targeting known kimberlite and cobalt-silver mineralization. This initiative will apply the same predictive algorithms to evaluate the potential for these valuable resources on Weekapaug’s current claims.
The company also announced the grant of 1.5 million restricted share units (RSUs) to a consultant, subject to a four-month hold period, as part of its equity incentive plan.
With this partnership and advanced surveying techniques, Weekapaug Lithium is positioning itself as a key player in hydrogen exploration across Canada.
