West Red Lake Gold Reports High-Grade Results at Upper 8 Target
By Kevin Vincent
West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. has announced new high-grade drill results from the Upper 8 Target at its 100%-owned Madsen Property in the Red Lake Gold District, Northwestern Ontario. The latest results further support the potential of this emerging zone as a significant high-grade discovery.
Drill Highlights
• Hole WRL24-017:
• 1.5m @ 21.44 g/t Au (297.7m to 299.2m), including:
• 0.5m @ 52.17 g/t Au (298.2m to 298.7m), featuring approximately 30 specks of visible gold.
• Hole WRL24-021:
• 2m @ 7.41 g/t Au (340.25m to 342.25m), including:
• 0.5m @ 23.74 g/t Au (340.25m to 340.75m).
The new drilling defines a high-grade ore shoot at Upper 8 measuring approximately 30m wide and 130m along plunge, remaining open at depth.
Geological Insights and Expansion Potential
The Upper 8 Target is located within the Russet Lake Ultramafic Unit, about 750m up-plunge from the deeper 8 Zone deposit, which contains:
• 87,700 oz Indicated resource grading 18 g/t Au.
• 18,200 oz Inferred resource grading 14.6 g/t Au.
The similar orientation and geology between Upper 8 and the 8 Zone deposit strengthen the potential for expansion along plunge. A second drill has been added to focus exclusively on this high-grade area.
CEO’s Perspective
Shane Williams, President and CEO, stated:
“The exceptional grades and visible gold at Upper 8 make it a compelling analog to the high-grade 8 Zone deposit. Early results suggest Upper 8 could become the next significant discovery in the Red Lake gold camp, reinforcing the potential for additional high-grade deposits across the Madsen property.”
Strategic Significance
• The Upper 8 Target is demonstrating potential for high-grade mineralization in a shallower environment than the deeper 8 Zone.
• Ongoing exploration supports the company’s vision of uncovering new high-grade deposits across the Madsen Property, a key asset in one of Canada’s most prolific gold regions.
West Red Lake Gold plans to continue aggressive drilling to further define and expand this promising zone while exploring additional targets across the property.
