Xplore Resources Identifies High-Priority Drill Targets at Surge Lithium Project
Xplore Resources Corp. (TSXV: XPLR) has announced the completion of its surface exploration program, which identified promising new drill targets at its flagship Surge Lithium project. Located in Ontario’s rapidly developing Root lithium district, the project benefits from new Lidar and geological data gathered over the summer. Xplore’s Surge project is strategically positioned next to Green Technology Metals’ Root Bay Project, where recent exploration has delivered strong results.
“With drilling targets as close as 25 meters from Green Technology Metals’ latest discovery at Root Bay East, we are excited to commence drilling,” said Dominic Verdejo, Chief Executive Officer of Xplore. “Our neighbor’s rapid transition from discovery to a significant resource sets a fantastic precedent that Xplore aims to follow as we fast-track our drill program at the Surge Project. Starting with a series of high-priority targets, our goal is to reveal the vast, yet-to-be-tapped potential contained within our 10 kilometers of prospective trend.”
News Highlights
• Growth Along Root Bay Trend Near Surge Project: The Root lithium area has seen substantial recent growth, with Green Technology Metals reporting a 10.1 Mt at 1.29% Li₂O JORC resource. Key highlights from Green Technology’s 14,000-meter campaign include 17.3 meters with approximately 30% spodumene (RB-24-002) and 16.3 meters with approximately 28% spodumene (RB-24-001), both within 25 meters of Xplore’s Surge property boundary.
• Surge Project’s Strategic Location: Situated along 10 kilometers of the Root Bay lithium trend, Xplore’s Surge property sits adjacent to Green Technology’s active Root Bay East area, where significant lithium mineralization has been intersected close to the Surge boundary. Reported findings include 23.3 meters at 1.16% Li₂O (RBE-23-007), 10.5 meters at 1.08% Li₂O (RBE-23-008), and 11.7 meters at 1.12% Li₂O (RBE-23-009).
• Refining Drill Targets with New Data: Recent Lidar survey results, along with geological mapping and prospecting, have revealed critical structures and outcrops on the Surge property, allowing Xplore to refine drill targets. Plans are underway to initiate drilling in areas most likely to extend mineralized zones identified near the Green Technology boundary.
