As part of Kal Tire, Canada's largest tire dealer, the Mining Tire Group was set up initially, to service mine sites in and around central British Columbia in the early 1970s. Since then, the business has expanded and now operates in more than 19 countries, creating the world's premier Mining Tire Service and Supply network that continues to grow every day. With a team of more than 1000 members operating globally, Kal Tire's Mining Tire Group has built a reputation for innovation, reliability and outstanding service.

From a shift 14,000 feet up in the Andes Mountains, or deep in the sweltering rainforests of Ghana, to frozen lug nuts on a grader in the Athabasca Oil Sands at -30C, Kal Tire's Mining Tire team goes to extremes to provide our customers with the best service in the world.

Why We Do It

The Kal Tire Mining Tire Group work on some of the biggest mobile equipment in the world, weighing over 300 tonnes empty and often bigger than a 2 storey house.

Working with some of the world's leading mining companies, Kal Tire is an integral part of moving and shaping the world we live in, part of the process of transforming the earth into valuable products.

To a mine manager, the tires on their equipment is a critical part of the multi million dollar production process. Break or slow that chain and the mine can grind to a halt.

When tires can account for up to 25% of mine operating costs, the Kal Tire objectives become an invaluable help...to extend tire life, safety, efficiency and reliability and in doing so, assist customers in maximizing production.
