See the Calhoun Difference!

At Calhoun Super Structures Ltd. we design and engineer our buildings to outperform and outlast any other fabric structure on the market. The difference is in our structure!

Why choose a Calhoun Super Structure?

Unsurpassed Engineering

Each and every building sold at Calhoun Super Structures is individually run through 3D Finite Element Analysis using all the site and building specific information by 3rd party engineers. This process allows us to see the amount of stress your building is under, anywhere on the structure, down to the size of a pin head. This type of engineering is the only true way of seeing how your building will perform using the site & building specific information. There is no guessing or assuming with a Calhoun Super Structure, every detail is covered and we can show you exactly how your building will perform.

Hot Dip Galvanized

All Calhoun Super Structures framework and other critical components are hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) after fabrication. This means you have the full protection of the HDG, inside and out, welds and all; nothing is exposed. The hot dip galvanization process creates metallurgical bond between the base steel and zinc-iron alloys. The result is a protective coating harder than the base steel and has up to 4 times the amount of zinc protection in that of in-line galvanizing. The HDG process is time tested. There is a reason why engineers in Canada spec hot dip galvanized steel in building high traffic bridges, it lasts!

Family Owned Company

The Calhoun Family has been a pioneer in the fabric building industry for over 20 years.Passionate and driven for exceptional quality and durability, Calhoun’s have used their knowledge and experience to deliver the best fabric structure in the industry. Now on the 2nd generation, the Calhoun’s resolve has never been stronger. Compare our structures and see why we are not afraid to be the first last name in the fabric building industry.

Dealer Network

Exceptional Customer service and attention to detail has been the backbone of Calhoun Super Structures since the very beginning. Our experience tells us that the best way to serve our customers is to partner with local people. Working with a local dealer who is equipped with the knowledge of your area and is familiar with local construction codes and principles, allows us to ensure that your building is unique and designed specifically to your area. Our experienced dealer network will work closely with you to design the perfect structure for your needs and your location.

Time Tested Experience

Research, dedication and experience is what allows our company to continually fabricate and introduce new innovative products. With knowledge and familiarity in the industry, we have implemented certain practices and procedures that set us apart from the competition and help us create a more structurally sound building.

For example:
• In-line Galvanizing to Hot-Dip Galvanizing – When we first started building fabric building 20 years ago we used in-line galvanizing. It wasn’t shortly after that, that we realized that if we wanted to create the best product out there we need to use the best materials. Hot Dip Galvanizing offers superior protection and durability over in-line galvanizing.
• Standard Keder system on buildings over 60’ wide – While the Keder system is an available option on all smaller structures, it is standard on all our structures larger than 60’ wide. Experience shows us that bag covers simply don’t hold up as well over time like the individual Keder panel system. Bag covers become too large and can’t be secured down well enough to prevent movement and ware points on the cover. The individual Keder panel system does not allow the fabric to have any ware points, being secured at each truss and tensioned at both ends. Thus largely increasing the life expectancy of your cover.
• Direct sales to Dealer network- Throughout the years we have learned that it is important to have someone beside you every step of the way when it comes to building your structure and ensuring that it is done right. For this reason, we have developed our intensive dealer network, to provide local service and assistance to all of our customers.
• Our experience shows that there are some things that you just cannot compromise on, especially when it comes to customer service and the quality of your building. We are passionate about every building we sell and will not settle for anything less than superior.
