Kirkland Lake is in the midst of an economic boom, the likes of which we haven't seen since the early 20th century. Unfortunately, that means that housing has become scarce. According to a housing study we completed in the summer of 2010, KL will need almost 600 new homes over the next five years. That is inclusive of all types of accommodation: single family residences, multi-residential buildings, affordable housing, etc.

 

The municipality is taking action. Developers have been attracted to the community, and building has started. But it will be a while before we have the number of units we need in the marketplace.In the meantime, we encourage you to work with local realtors and developers to find a home.
