About Us

In March 2015, Aroland First Nation, Eabametoong First Nation and Marten Falls First Nation signed a co-operation agreement to work together on forest management and business ventures.  This led to the establishment of the Agoke Development Limited Partnership. The Agoke Development Limited Partnership (ADLP), which was incorporated in September 2015, is equally owned by all three First Nations and is designed as a vehicle to separate business from politics and to pursue forest management.

Throughout 2016, ADLP has worked hard to identify ways to build capacity in all areas as they move forward with discussions on forest management. Agoke Development Limited Partnership secured a Forest Resource Licence in June 2016 to harvest wood for delivery to the Longlac Lumber Inc. sawmill in Longlac.

This milestone provides a minimal risk, short-term opportunity which has initiated activities on the Ogoki Forest while working on a plan to restart the sawmill in Nakina that could bring long-term economic development to the region.

As a licensee on the Ogoki Forest, ADLP is active in the forest management planning process through its input to the selection of harvest blocks during the preparation of the Ogoki Forest 2017-18 and 2018-19 Annual Work Schedule and continuing to be involved in the development of the Forest Management Plan.
