Reporting to the Sales Manager-Projects for the designated region, the Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and managing specific key accounts and Engineering Firm customers, while meeting sales objectives and identifying new business opportunities for Weir Minerals’ entire portfolio within the designated geographic territory.
 
Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities
 
Including but not limited to:
 
  • Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships with Engineering firms to maintain Weir’s competitive positioning in selling capital equipment
  • Meeting sales objectives and identifying new business opportunities for Weir Minerals products and service within the designated geographic territory
  • Providing input to company product, price and service strategies pertaining to capital projects
  • Developing business plans for meeting and exceeding personal and group level capital sales objectives
  • Generating sales presentations, proposals and contracts for customer as required, leveraging the support of Applications personnel and Product Management team
  • Supporting management, sales and product management professionals in the company through the development of new market opportunities in the designated territory/market
  • Maximizing greenfield market share for the entire Weir Minerals product portfolio
  • Resolving Post-Award issues to the satisfaction of both, the company and the customer, in partnership with other Weir Minerals departments
  • Effectively supporting the transition of awarded sales into product realization stages, by liaising with Product Management, Operations, Engineering, and Project Management departments
  • Meeting all KPI’s relative to the Professional Development Plan
  • Attending and participating to the Mining Events in the territory and providing exposure to Weir by being on organization committees

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
 
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering and P. Eng designation, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of (5-10) years of experience in applications engineering and/or technical sales, or supporting the sales of capital goods in the Mineral Processing, Mining or Industrial markets.
  • Prior experience in dealing with mining companies and Engineering firms. Preference given to direct experience with pumping or mineral processing equipment in the Mineral processing industry (or related). Preference given to prior in-depth experience to slurry pumps and pump systems for mineral processing applications or industrial markets.
  • Excellent ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers during complex sales processes. Strong sales aptitude. Clean Driving record.
 
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Exceptional ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public. Solid active listening skills and consultative approach to selling.  Proficient in reading, writing and speaking in English language.
 
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
 
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Browser. Exposure to or experience with Database, Order Processing, and CRM software would be considered an asset.
 
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to sit, stand, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
 
Work Environment:
Normal office conditions with exposure to plant environment; Up to 40 percent travel is expected for the purpose of visiting customers and/or project sites, where additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.

This role is responsible for sales in the designated sales territory, focusing specifically on Engineering firm customers.

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, machining centers to fabricate high speed precision ground metallic parts and components with tight tolerances and exotic materials.

Material Handler

To ensure timely and accurate movement of all products in and around the facility.

Field Engineer

The Field Engineer’s role will be to technically support our key oil sands customers. 

Handlay Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager of the Fabrication Shop, the selected candidate will supervise workers engaged on the afternoon shif.

Buyer

Perform duties required to provide strategically source and procure a wide variety of technical and non-technical materials and services from suppliers worldwide to support customer requirements.

Customer Service Rep - Inside Sales I

Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers; receives and verifies orders for Weir products.

Applications Engineer

As part of our sales departments, the Application Engineer will work collaborative with internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development, sales of products and aftermarket services, while ensuring that customer requirements are met.
