Job Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a candidate to fill our Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist position. The AR Specialist will be responsible for the effective management, analysis and problem resolution of the company’s outstanding accounts and the application of payments.
Responsibilities
• Responding to customer questions and communicating with them via telephone and/or email
• Processing and posting customer credit card and check payments via PayPal, Accounting and CRM systems
• Researching discrepancies in payment amount vs. total invoice amount due
• Processing AR adjustments
• Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers' financial situations
• Locate and notify customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or email to solicit payment.
• Confer with customers to determine reasons for overdue payments, review the terms of sales, service, or credit contracts, and forwarding missing invoice copies to customers as needed.
• Work with members of other internal departments, such as Sales Admin, Accounting, and Sales to service customers.
• Record information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts.
• Sort and file correspondence, and perform miscellaneous clerical duties
Job Qualifications:
• Good work ethic, and performs as a team player
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills to effectively work with customers as well as internal department to resolve receivable and billing questions
• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision after training
• Good organization skills
• Problem solving abilities
• Prompt follow up on open issues
• Previous accounting experience
• 1-2 years of hands-on Accounting experience, preferably
