Aevitas Inc. is currently hiring full-time Lamp Processing Technicians to work out of our Ayr, ON facility. We are looking for fill roles on various shifts to accommodate our company growth. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport lamps to be processed from storage area to processing area using pump cart, forklift and other related equipment
- Check materials received against items listed on Bill of Lading to ensure accuracy
- Weigh lamps and drums of broken glass as required and record on Bill of Lading
- Unpack and sort lamps by type for recycling by type as required for processing
- Segregate packaging materials such as cardboard, plastic and other foreign materials for recycling and/or disposal
- Transfer cardboard, plastics and other foreign material to designated area for recycling and /or disposal
- Perform daily routine and pre-start inspections of work area and equipment prior to the start of each shift
- Set-up and operate lamp processing machine
- Manually load lamps into machine
- Record lamp counts from machine display on customer Bills of Lading
- Ensure all lamp materials received for each customer shipment are processed
- Monitor residual process containers and replace with empty containers when maximum capacity reached
- Close, label and transport full residual containers in designated area for shipment using pump cart, forklift and other related equipment
- Wear personal protective equipment such as respirator, safety goggles, tyvek coveralls, safety gloves, hard hat and safety boots as necessary
- Complete and submit a daily production report to management including a total amount of lamps processed
- Maintain daily housekeeping of work area
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Able to work in a dirty and dusty work environment
- Able to work in cold working environment in the winter and hot working environment during the summer months
- Wear personal protective equipment such as respirator, safety goggles, tyvek coveralls, safety gloves, hard hat and safety boots as necessary
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Forklift experience considered an asset
Looking for Processors for the Afternoon and Night Shift. Must be willing to start on contract for a probationary period. Permanent positions are available after 6 months on contract. Permanent positions include drug benefits, dental/vision, RRSP matching benefits & discretionary incentive program. You must have reliable transportation as we are not on bus route and are about 15 minutes outside Kitchener-Waterloo.
