Position Description
 
A multi-national company is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and results driven
Automation Programmer Specialist for the Sudbury area
 
The main responsibilities of the position will be:
• Work with adaptations of the control system functionality including programming and testing.
• Work with the central development team to develop new automation and control system functionality.
• Transmit feedback requirements based on the experiences in field.
• Support the ongoing automation projects in the Canadian market.
• Handle commissioning and customization of bigger automation sales.
• Handle upgrades and assist our service organization in troubleshooting on existing installations.
• Frequent travel to customer sites throughout Canada and to development outside of Canada
 
Required Qualifications:
• Computer Engineer Master or Bachelor of Science.
• Required to have 5-10 years of experience of electronics / software design (c++, Linux)
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems including Canbus. 
• Good understanding of radio/network systems specifically WLAN (2.4-5.8 GHz), 450-900 MHz communication.
• Good communication skills internally and externally and willing to develop strong relations with the development team
• Project Leader skills 
• Ability to represent company in a professional and ethical manner
 
Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be a definite advantage
• Preferably have experience working with Trimble and Leica GPS systems.
