The Surveyor is accountable for supporting the Williams U/G by planning ahead and providing operations with direction and prints in all active headings. Planning includes communicating with operations on a daily basis to ensure all prints are being issued and headings being visited on a regular basis.
 
They must provide layouts, prints, required information in an accurate and timely manner to assist in the mine meeting or exceeding its targets.  The Surveyor must work well within the department and in conjunction with the other departments to organize resources and ensure the best decisions are made for the site. They are expected to keep updated with the needs of the working areas and the changes to weekly and monthly plans. The Surveyor will organize information and resources required to meet requirements for monthly plans to be achieved as well as be aware of the overall mine targets and contribute in meeting those targets.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Maintaining U/G control for alimak raises - Laser installs
  • Prepare layouts for U/G mark-ups as required         
  • Download and transfer 2d and 3d information from all instruments (CMS's, topes, etc.) and cut 2d plan sections for Mylar and Master Level Plans (located in directory I:\LAYOUTS\DWG\Jim\370-350 \LEVELS)
  • Be able to operate and download info from the CALS instrument and cut 2d plan section for Mylar and Master Level Plans (located in directory I:\LAYOUTS\DWG\Jim\370-350 \LEVELS)
  • Track round count for month end and compare with Statistician and Development Planner for accuracy
  • Complete Survey Month End Report
  • Attend & contribute to weekly production meetings  
  • Provide regular feedback regarding production targets, production performance and safety performance as requested       
  • Compliance with the Barrick Regional Standards
  • Account for all actions with the Barrick Core values being applied
  • Verify that all information is entered accurately and timely
  • Adjust daily prioritize as required for the operations efficiencies
  • File all documents and maintain the existing document filing system
 
Qualifications
 
  • College Technical certificate or related experience (+3 years)
  • Experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as onsite training will be provided
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Proficient in Oracle system
  • Attention to detail
  • High level multi-tasking and organization
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Communication skills

Underground Surveyor

Underground Mine Geologist

As a member of the Technical Services and Mineral Resource Management team, the successful candidate will report to the Senior Mine Geologist and work either an 8:6 roster resident in town, or a 14:14 roster with camp accommodation and meals provided in a camp type environment. 

Supply Chain Superintendent

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and they will be responsible leading the Supply Chain function for the mine site. 

Temporary Journeyman Electricians

The Temporary Journeyman Shift Electrician is accountable to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician is responsible for maintaining all surface and underground electrical systems in accordance to Company Standards, Ontario Hydro standards, Electrical Code, CSA standards and Federal, Provincial, and Company Safety regulations.

Underground Project Engineer

The Underground Project Engineer is Responsible for generating all UG projects documentation and coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects and ensure effective communication and coordination between all project participants.

Mid-Term Planner

Reporting to the Planning Superintendent, the Mid-Term Planner is responsible for all mid-term mine planning activities.

Core Technician - 1 Year Fixed Term

Reporting to the Core Technician Coordinator, your primary duty will be to provide support in maintaining continuous operation of logging activities.

Controller

Ensure all programs, personal actions and approaches support Barrick’s goals for safety and sustainability.  Act as a safety champion and constantly apply the principals and spirit of Courageous Safety Leadership and Courage to Care.

Temporary Gas Fitter - G1

Ensure all programs, personal actions and approaches support Barrick’s goals for safety and sustainability.  Act as a safety champion and constantly apply the principals and spirit of Courageous Safety Leadership and Courage to Care.

Automation Mining Engineer

Accountable for the support, development, improvement, and reliability of the various facets f the mobile, exploration, development, fixed plant automation systems in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.
