We are currently recruiting for a bilingual Employee & Labour Relations Advisor to work at our headquarters.
 
What you will be doing…
 
The Employee and Labour Relations (ELR) Advisor provides Human Resources advice, support and guidance to Operations management and employees. The Advisor assists in the development and consistent implementation and application of policies, processes and procedures in the areas of employee and labour relations.
 
Some of your responsibilities include…
 
• Conduct or assist in HR investigations and case file reviews and prepare responses
• Prepare responses to Ministry of Labour complaints, Human Rights Tribunal complaints and Access to Information requests.
• Provide advice and guidance on sensitive employee cases such as workplace conflict, workplace
accommodations, performance, discipline, attendance issues, harassment complaints, terminations, etc.
• Research issues, conduct supplementary investigations, and organize pertinent documentation for grievance and arbitration hearings

You’re a good fit if you…
 
• Hold a CHRP, CHRL (asset)
• Have strong knowledge on how to administer and interpret collective agreements
• Have effective planning, organizing and time management skills
• Have sound computer skills in MS Office Suite and HRIS database software
• Have experience with HR project work or specialist roles requiring the design, development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and programs
• Have experience working in union environment (asset)
• Have Exceptional people and customer service skills with the ability to relate well to people at all levels of the organization
• Have proven problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
• Have a keen understanding of operational needs and are capable to find win-win solutions
• Have experience in conflict management, mediations, facilitation and the negotiations process
• Have exceptional communication and relationship building skills
 
Your must-haves:
 
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources (generalist or employee & labour relations)
• Have completed a Post-Secondary Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
• Strong knowledge and experience in the interpretation of labour and employment legislation, regulations and Acts
• Experience providing advice and guidance to managers and employees
• Bilingualism (English/French) required
• Reliability Security Clearance (or able to obtain)
