Bus Driver – Student Transportation

The Aamjiwnaang First Nation Education Department is currently seeking a school Bus Driver, to provide transportation to students who reside on the Aamjiwnaang First Nation and attend the Kindergarten program, public school and other educational institutions.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Perform daily inspection of vehicles for safety and efficiency
• Pick up students and transport them from various community stops at Aamjiwnaang and Sarnia, ON.
• Notify management of any vehicle deficiencies or issues
• Be aware of and comply with the Aamjiwnaang Bus Policy
• Abide by the Highway Traffic Act
• Keep vehicles clean and neat at all times
 
Requirements:
 
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driving record – Class B School Bus and G license with a good driving record
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to sit/drive for extended periods of time
• Flexibility to maintain a split schedule
• Must have a criminal record check (CPIC) including a vulnerable sector with children.
 
Other Considerations:
 
Preference may be given to Indigenous candidates with relevant on reserve employment and / or those with knowledge and understanding of Aamjiwnaang and history and community.

Housing Case Manager

This position is responsible for establishing permanent housing and supporting Indigenous and other Housing Clients who have a serious mental illness and are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Human Resources Officer

Reporting to the Band Manager the Human Resources Officer is primarily responsible to support staff and management on policy interpretations and grievance matters; conducts recruitment and selection processes and provides progressive and expert HR guidance to all levels of staff on policy and legislation interpretation, providing solutions to a wide spectrum of complex HR issues.
