Dental Clinic Receptionist, Secretary (Temp)

Cambrian College’s Schools of Health Sciences, Nursing, and Emergency Services has an immediate requirement for an individual to work, on temporary part-time basis, as an evening Receptionist in the Dental Clinic.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Utilizing Abeldent, this individual will book client care appointments, answer phone calls, respond to email enquiries providing information about the clinic services. 
  • Provide front line service ensuring timely, friendly and informative service.
  • Facilitate student progression through program by scheduling clients whose case will provide the student an opportunity to meet their individual learning needs.
  • Oversee management of important documents/records within the clinic (student and client charts. Clinic rotation lists, etc.).
  • Provide clerical services for the dental business office, billings, and facilitating the referral/consultation process for clients who may need services required to provide complete care. 
 
Qualifications
 
  • One-year postsecondary certificate in Dental Assisting and/or registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
  • Three years of experience using Abeldent within a dental office.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook) as well as Abeldent dental software.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience as well as excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills for in-person and telephone-related client interaction.
  • Excellent analytical skills, tact, and judgment.
  • Collaborative professional who promotes team work and works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
 
Assets/Preferred: 
 
  • Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
  • Proficiency with medical terminology.
