The Technical Services Engineer supports the Engineering department and activities for the Company. You will provide technical, operational and product support in the Engineering group. The position reports to the Technical Services Engineering Manager and is based primarily in the Houston or Calgary corporate office.
 
Schedule:
 
  • This position holds normal business hours
  • Frequent travel to both Certarus hubs and customer sites is expected within the US and Canada
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Candidate will take on technical problems within the CNG and RNG delivery platform and work with the team and or equipment supplier to improve reliability
  • Visit domestic suppliers for expediting, inspections, quality audits, or any other business needs
  • Identify key equipment failure trends and develop corrective actions to address issues
  • Contribute to new product development in the CNG and RNG product lines
  • Trouble shoot equipment issues as needed. Visit facilities and/or customer sites as required.
  • Write Safe Working Procedures, equipment manuals, training materials, and any other documentation relevant to mitigating safety risks or improving Certarus’ operations
  • Provide technical expertise during customer office and/or field site visits.
  • Contribute solutions to open ended problems
  • Support sales team in accurately defining project scope and costs
  • Complete detailed designs of major customer projects
  • Coordinate and manage construction of required onsite infrastructure
  • Assist in new site walk-throughs
 
Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
  • 5+ years experience in a technical role within an industrial hands-on environment. Direct experience with CNG is an asset
  • Experience with compressor packages, piping, electrical, and control systems preferred
  • Working knowledge of best practices for steel fabrication, tubing, and electrical assemblies
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, Canadian Electrical Code, and National Electrical Code
  • Demonstrated success in fast paced cultures
  • Excellent organizational & communication skills
