Regional Driver Trainer – Grande Prairie, AB

- The schedule follows normal business hours with extra work hours when required.
- The position involves daily regional travel between customer sites and Certarus regional hubs
- Responsible for the driving and delivery of skills assessments, coaching, and training of heavy and light vehicle (pick-up) drivers involved in the transportation of compressed gas and associated equipment
- Train, coach and assess drivers on Certarus and industry best practices for driving safety, pre-trip inspections, regulatory requirements, and Hazardous Materials transportation
- Support Certarus’ Driving Safety and Transportation Compliance Programs
- Assist the Regional Operations Manager with planning, execution, and organization of driver trainer activities at the facilities assigned, including new hire training, scheduling, and evaluation of re-certification assessments, accident/incident follow-up assessments, and driver performance assessments
- Comply with and review all Certarus Driving and Transportation policies and procedures to support best-in-class driving performance
- Advise management of driving or transportation compliance concerns
- Support the HSE and Transportation Compliance teams as required for all safety initiatives related to the training of drivers
- Work with the HSE team and the Training & Development Manager to evaluate driver training requirements, materials, assessments and certification tracking needs, and implement programs to support best-in-class driving performance
- Support regional teams to perform regular road hazard evaluations, reviewing driving-related HazardIDs / BBOs, and other driving-related risk assessments
- Support the Third-Party Carrier Manager and Logistics Team in assessment, auditing and monitoring of regional third-party carriers transporting Certarus equipment
- Provide feedback to Transportation Compliance team on issues and improvements related to driving safety technology and business systems
- Periodically work with Transportation Compliance and Human Resource teams to review driver qualifications & motor vehicle records, and provide hiring recommendations as needed
- Support, advocate for and conduct driving safety programs and policies such as Smith System Defensive Driving, 360 Walk Around, and other Certarus policies and procedures
- Support driving-related incident investigations and corrective actions
- Other duties related to HSE and TC best practices, processes, training, and policies
- Maintain a CDL with Class A Hazmat Endorsement, along with an excellent driving record
- Minimum 5+ years in an HSE, Heavy Vehicle Driving Training, or Transportation Compliance role
- Strong knowledge of US / Canadian Transportation regulations, including Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods Transportation and Hours of Service requirements
- Drive or perform assessments in a Commercial Motor Vehicle (tractor-trailer) combination, usually long distances, to transport and off-load compressed gas in a safe, timely, accurate, and courteous manner
- Willingness to travel to Hubs and customer field sites within region, including occasional travel outside of region
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working in an autonomous environment; as well as collaborating in diverse teams
- Familiar with MS Office with an aptitude to learn new computer programs and mobile applications quickly
- Comply with all regulatory and Certarus policies, including PPE and use of driving safety technology
Certarus’ Regional Driver Trainer is responsible for conducting all classroom and hands-on driver training, and preparing drivers for work readiness.
Transportation Compliance Coordinators are responsible for supporting all transportation compliance functions across our Canadian and US trucking operations.
The Technical Services Engineer supports the Engineering department and activities for the Company.

Reporting to the Manager of Technology & Business Process, this highly motivated individual will provide support in continuing to advance Certarus’ analytical capabilities.
The Asset Integrity Engineer supports the Asset Integrity Manager, the Engineering department, and activities for the Certarus in the US and Canada.
