The Senior Park Gate Attendant is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Park Registration Office, assists with the financial management of the Park and directs the delivery of related services. The Senior Gate Attendant ensures that the park clientele are treated in a polite, friendly, courteous manner, and assists with the supervision of gate attendant/student gate attendant positions.
 
KEY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
• Maintain campground registration and reservation service
• Maintain Park Website, web pages, and social media; brochures and maps
• Develop and update office procedures and filing system
• Maintain office supply control and inventory
• Collect and summarize visitor statistics
• Prepare gate attendant schedules
• Review daily sales summary sheets and balances as required
• Prepare and issue invoices for park services and products
• Assist Park Manager with Accounting System
• Clean and maintain gatehouse and park entrance
• Ensure messages are forwarded to Park visitors and to Park staff
• Attend and participate at Staff meetings
• Inform Supervisor of equipment needs and any facility usage
• Inform Supervisor of all schedule changes due to cancellations, postponements, equipment problems, personnel shortages
• Provide back-up for gate attendant, scheduled breaks and absences
• Ensure that all invoices are prepared, submitted and recorded
• Attend all necessary training as assigned
• Conduct other related duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/designate

• Excellent oral, written and non-verbal communication and interpersonal skills to:
▪ Respond to visitor inquiries
▪ Able to use a high level of tact and discretion when dealing with park clients

WORKING CONDITIONS
 
1. Physical Demands – Some periods of stooping, reaching, pushing, walking, climbing, standing, kneeling, lifting and/or fixed work position. Lifting of some objects not exceeding 10 pounds
2. Environment – Periods of exposure to outside encountering adverse weather conditions, safety hazards and temperature extremes.
3. Mental Effort – Some periods of time where mental, visual, and/or aural concentration is required.
4. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – Regular full-time hours of 37.5 hours per week and requires availability for evening/night/weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled to meet the needs of the Cape Croker Park and the Nawash Community.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
Education and Experience:
 
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent skills and experience)
• 2-3 years Supervisory experience
• Experience with Registration and Reservation Software
• Recent and relevant experience in basic accounting
• Experience in training other in systems and office procedures
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 
• Willingness to become familiar with Park Rules, Park lay-out and Park Operations
• Working knowledge of keyboarding and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• fFmiliar with First Nation culture and Nawash Community
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills
• Ability to interact with others using tact and discretion
• Ability to take direction
• Able to participate effectively as a team player
• Ability to work under stress and adhere to timelines
 
Designations, Licences & Requirements:
 
• Possession of a valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Willingness to provide the results of a criminal background check
 

Health Services Manager (Band Member Preferred)

The Health Services Manager ensures policies and procedures are followed, assists to develop new programs and regularly evaluated programs to ensure services are compliant with the funding requirements as agreed through the health agreement and other funding agreements.
