William Day Construction Limited is looking for an experienced Driver/equipment trainer. The successful candidate will provide strong safety leadership while playing a pivotal hands-on-role in the training, management, and compliance of our team of professional drivers and operators
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Conduct simulator and road testing for prospective new vehicle operators
  • Recommend qualified candidates for hire
  • Carry out on-boarding documentation sessions for new recruits
  • Perform ongoing in-cab training sessions
  • Train new employees on vehicle/equipment operation and job procedures
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new training/safety documentation and procedures
  • Assess employees risks at time of hire and post-incident
  • Follow-up with employees in relation to job performance issues
  • Conduct periodic audits and evaluations
  • Sign-off employees on different equipment
  • Training  and signing off employees on the following equipment: 
  • Excavator
  • Dozer
  • Loader
  • Grader
  • Skid-Steer
 
Requirements:
 
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • 3-5 years experience with training and safety
  • Heavy equipment operating experience
  • A passion for safety and a record of safe practices in the workplace
  • Strong leadershop skills and a proven ability to evaluate, train, and manage employees
  • The ability to self-manage and be productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Great focus on attention to detail

Equipment Trainer - Timmins

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice - Timmins
  • Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components
  • Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel powered units
Field Office Administrative Assistant - Timmins
  • Complete daily work reports and submit hours for Field Supervisor’s/ Superintendent’s
  • Input various data from Fuel Sheets, Crusher Reports, and Circle Checks into spreadsheets
Shop Helper - Timmins
  • Carry out general labouring duties in order to assist Day Group Mechanics and the various trades, as required
  • Duties include keeping the shop clean, sweeping, washing and putting tools away and delivering materials when needed
AZ Long Haul/Float Driver - Timmins
  • Complete reports such as driver logbooks, inspection reports, and maintenance and repair reports
  • Ensure safety and security of cargo, oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
General Labourer - Timmins
  • Carry out general labouring duties in order to assist both Day Group personnel and the various trades on site, as required.
  • Duties may include preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, cleaning, assembling, lifting, moving, and being directed to offer assistance.
Office Administrative Assistant - Timmins
  • Complete daily work reports and submit hours to client

IT Systems Administrator - Timmins

Under the supervision of the Senior IT Systems Engineer, provide front-line tech support, on-site and in-person to end users in a fast-paced office environment.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Truck and Trailer repairs​
Surveyor - Greater Sudbury
  • Topographic surveys (month end & asbuilts), layouts & grading
  • Participate in supervision discussions to plan daily tasks/look ahead
