Based at the Detour Lake Mine Site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Infrastructure/ Mobile Maintenance Administrative Assistant to join our Major Capital and Infrastructure team, reporting to the Manager, Major Capital and Infrastructure.
 
Detour Lake is the second largest gold producing mine in Canada with the largest gold reserves and substantial growth potential. The open pit mine is located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 300 kilometres northeast of Timmins and 185 kilometres by road northeast of Cochrane, within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt.The mine is situated in the area of the historic Detour Lake open pit/underground mine operated by Placer Dome which produced 1.8 million ounces of gold from 1983 to 1999. The Detour Lake operation has a mine life of approximately 22 years with an average gold production of 659,000 ounces per year.
 
The Infrastructure/ Mobile Maintenance Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative services to support the Infrastructure and Mobile Maintenance Departments and act as a key contact for employee inquiries.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Your responsibilities will include:​​​
 
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintaining files, copying and scanning documentation, tracking invoices and expense accounts;
  • Generate correspondence, memos, meeting minutes, manage all housekeeping forms, assist employees with numerous inquiries;
  • Compile safety related spreadsheets for compliance;
  • Manage departmental rosters, travel and accommodation requests, timesheets and approved leave forms;
  • Time entry, notifications and creating work orders, ordering parts, reconciliations, create monthly fuel orders & reconcile amount of fuel disbursed;
  • Review equipment circle check data and enter required maintenance notifications;
  • Advise employees on relevant policies and procedures, or refer queries to the appropriate personnel;
  • Assist with all other support required for the efficiency and function of the Infrastructure and Mobile Maintenance Departments;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the departments and with internal stakeholders.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Our ideal candidate has:​​
 
  • Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or related program;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an administrative role;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Proficiency using SAP,MS Excel, Word and Outlook is required;
  • Highly organized and able to meet deadlines;
  • Strong verbal, written, listening and presentation skills;
  • Experience working at a mining or industrial operation in a fast paced environment;
  • Proven commitment to health, safety and the environment;
  • Exceptional ability to work within a diverse team.
