Job Description
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Provides centrally managed law enforcement radio monitoring with event logging and recording, as well as emergency dispatch, incident reporting and analysis, remote alarm panel programming, and video surveillance systems.
  • Dispatch emergency calls to respond to alarms or video triggered incidents/situations.
  • Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm or video monitoring software, initiate internal or police response based on defined criteria, accurately capture event information, confirm accuracy of data recorded in the alarm or video database, interact with postal employees including postal inspectors, postal customers, and police departments.
  • Monitors and process after-hours phone traffic.
 
Physical & Mental Requirements:
 
  • With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.  Frequent sitting and standing which may be required for long periods of time. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting and/or moving up to five (5) Kilograms and occasional lifting and/or moving up to eleven (11) Kilograms.
  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable Provincial and municipal licensing requirements for Security Guards.
  • Must have the ability to use a computer and operating controls along with security software applications.
  • Must be able to display clear and quick thinking to resolve problems.
  • Must be available to work on all shifts: days, evenings and nights inclusive of rotational shifts.
  • Must be fluent in English and/or French.
