This is a great opportunity for a new graduate to gain experience! The Canadian Association of Science Centres is seeking an intern to work closely with the Executive Director to help science centres across Canada inspire a creative and prosperous Canada through science and technology engagement. This means you’ll be working with a fun group of people across Canada! What’s even more exciting is you’ll be helping to develop programs to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. This is a paid internship with a one year duration at a rate of $19.20/hr.

As the Canada 150 Intern, you’ll spend most of your time on:
• Working alongside Science Centre staff on program development and execution,
• Researching sponsorship opportunities and help develop sponsorship packages and grant applications for cross-Canada programs,
• Coordinating programs across the country
• Writing and sending communications to our members and potential donors,
• Coordinating marketing efforts among members and the public, nationwide,
• Adding content to website and using social media outlets to promote activities
• Provide guidance and connections among members to help find efficiencies

These are the skills, qualities and qualifications you must have in order to successfully do this job:
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Good time management skills and a willingness to learn
• Creative with attention to detail
• Customer service oriented and confident demeanor
• University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university. The candidate must be a graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program, preferably Commerce and/or Communications. The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidate’s field of study.

What is the Canadian Association of Science Centres?
The Canadian Association of Science Centres is a national platform for Canada’s Science Centres and informal science engagement. We represent 45 Science Centres, Museums and Planetariums across Canada that attract 8 million visitors annually, of which 6 million are adults. The workforce across our membership represents more than 1,500 science communicators and support stuff in addition to more than 10,000 volunteers. Collectively, the budgets at our member organizations exceed $200 million annually. Our office is located in the Science North building.
