What You’ll Do
 
As the Underground Operator, you will safely operate and maintain loading and delivery equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, and in a manner that protects company assets and ensures their dependability. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment when not in proper working condition. Other duties will include:
 
  • Work independently, traveling between the loading sites and the plant (overtime and overnight runs along with weekend work will be required)
  • Contribute to the establishment of strong positive relations between the Company and the Site’s prime client.
  • Respond readily and in a manner that reinforces the reputation of the Company as a supplier with the highest standards of product quality and customer service
  • Possess a good general knowledge of handling, storing and using explosives on surface (NRC regulations).
  • Have a full understanding of documentation required for completing all job tasks related to pumping emulsion explosives
  • Accurately and fully complete all required documentation and reports within time requirements
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
  • Guarantee that a safe working environment is maintained in compliance with all of Dyno Nobel’s safety rules and regulations.  
 
What We’re Looking For:
 
  • Grade 12 Diploma or the equivalent
  • Class 5 Driver License required
  • Mechanical knowledge and/or background is helpful.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot problems with underground equipment hydraulic and electrical equipment is an asset.
  • Ability to work in an underground environment for hours at a time.
  • Ability to stay at the site overnight during scheduled shifts (Possibly 4 days on, 3 days off) - this is not a fly in/fly out position

Blaster Helper

As the Blaster Helper, you will Operate auxiliary equipment in the maintenance of all equipment and the loading, mixing, unloading, and preparation of explosive products for the customer in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Bulk Truck Operator

As the Bulk Truck Operator, you will operate all types of Dyno Nobel trucks and specialty equipment to prepare and deliver company explosive products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Blaster (Day and Night Shifts)

The Blaster will conduct surface production blasting operations within Dyno Nobel standards. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of conducting blasting operations in a safe and efficient manner.

Underground Operator

The Underground Operator will ensure the safe and effective preparation and delivery of correct explosive product to the loading sites. You will troubleshoot and maintain all equipment types and support ongoing general site operations.

Labourer

As the Labourer, you will assist operations crew on site by operating auxiliary equipment, performing basic maintenance, and assisting equipment operators and blasters at the site in order to safely serve the customer.

Drill Helper / Labourer

As the Drill Helper/Labourer, you will assist operations crew on site by operating auxiliary equipment, perform basic maintenance, and assist equipment operators and blasters at the site in order to safely serve the customer.

Driller

As the Driller, you will operate drills, perform regular maintenance, maintain accurate patterns, and complete appropriate documentation and reports.

Underground Operator
