Location: Raglan Mine, North-of-Quebec, Quebec, Canada
Rotation schedule of 50/50: equivalent to 3 consecutive weeks of work followed by 2 weeks of leave; and 2 consecutive weeks of work followed by 3 weeks of leave
 
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor - Surface Services, you will perform the preventive maintenance and execute corrective maintenance, including the diagnosis, troubleshooting and repairs. You will participate in the improvement and optimization of various systems with the objective of increasing the production performances, the reliability of equipment, the standardization or improvement of the security and working conditions. You will also apply various procedures in order to reach higher performance levels in the matters of health and safety and of protection and respect of the environment.
 
You must hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Electrical Engineering Technology-Automation and Control, or in Industrial Electronic Technology, or the equivalent in a Canadian Community College, or any other diploma equivalent to a technical DEC, in addition to a minimum of five (5) years of experience in plant maintenance in a heavy industrial or mining environment. You must have a valid “C” license. You have a solid background with regard to electrical distribution equipment, motor control center of 4160/600/240/120 volts, power electronics, variable frequency drive, programmable logic controller (Modicon-Schneider), measuring instruments (level transmitter, flow meter, pressure transmitter, density transmitter), and control valves. You master various repair methods, tuning, calibration, assembling and dismantling as well as the handling of these equipments and their components.  You must have good knowledge in regard to mathematics, data processing and in automation.  You must demonstrate autonomy, initiative, ingenuity, precision, resourcefulness and have the ability to work in a team.
 
Work conditions:
 
  • Work shifts of 11 hours per day.
  • Rotation schedule of 50/50: equivalent to 3 consecutive weeks of work followed by 2 weeks of leave; and 2 consecutive weeks of work followed by 3 weeks of leave.
  • Private air transport is provided from Montreal, Quebec, Rouyn-Noranda, Mont-Joli or Inuit communities (depending on place of residence) to the mine site and return.
