Reporting to the General Supervisor this position will provide electrical support and expertise to some of the largest mobile mining equipment in the world. You will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Supporting both customers and other trades people in the resolution, component repair/rebuild, haul truck/shovel repair, and equipment assembly/repair issues in the effective troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Installation of new parts and equipment in accordance with generally accepted industry standards, as well as, site specific best practices.
  • Performing component failure analysis to improve the operation of installed parts and equipment
  • Other duties as required
 
Qualifications:
 
The successful candidate will possess a Red Seal Electrician Certification, and a minimum of three (3) years of industry related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and OEM drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layout
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of Komatsu equipment
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on providing valuable customer service
  • Ability to work out of town on occasion
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  •  Forklift training, WHMIS, and TDG training certification is an asset
