Reporting to the VP of Environment, Health of Safety the Environmental Manager is responsible for the environmental compliance and environmental stewardship for all Wajax locations. In this role The Environmental Manager leads a positive environmental stewardship among peers, senior leaders and branch leadership.
Responsibilities
As part of the Environment, Health & Safety Team the Environmental Manager is responsible for:
• Conducting environmental compliance audits
• Providing technical support to Branch leadership
• Monitoring and reporting on environmental activities
• Coordination of Environmental Site Assessments and remediation projects
• Overseeing and supervising the work of environmental contractors
• As primary contact with environmental regulators, participate in all discussions and negotiations to ensure environmental compliance
• Ensuring all environmental recordkeeping, monitoring and reporting requirements for Wajax are accurate, complete and timely.
• Ensuring all environmental legal requirements are met or exceeded by staying informed about changes in laws and regulations.
• Developing and maintaining environmental programs as needed.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements & Experience:
• Excellent understanding of environmental regulations
• Safe operating practices in a distribution/service environment.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated ability to work with other software (i.e. KMI).
• 7-10 years’ experience
Education:
• University Degree
• Certifications: EP (CEA) desirable
