Field Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson (Fort McMurray)

Schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days of rest (rotating days and nights)
 
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy equipment at the shop in a safe, efficient, and capable manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
• Make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement
• Repair the equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner
• Think logically and keep up with changes in technology
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals
• Employ workplace health and safety practices at all times
• Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
 
Qualifications:
 
The successful candidate will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include, but are not limited to:
 
• Interprovincial Red Seal is considered an asset
• Experience in repair/maintenance of heavy duty equipment
• Experience with Komatsu Equipment is considered an asset
• Strong commitment to safety
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Full driver's license with no restrictions

Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Parts warehouse summer student is responsible for a variety of general duties and assisting skilled trades people.

Electrician, Journeyperson

Reporting to the General Supervisor this position will provide electrical support and expertise to some of the largest mobile mining equipment in the world.
