Two positions:
 
BC - Lower Mainland
ON - Greater Toronto Area
 
The Field Product Specialist is responsible the development of sales through building relationships with end users, organizing and delivering practical demonstrations, and educating end users about our products through their extensive product knowledge.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Add value to the relationships between Makita Canada and the end user community in Canada.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow relationships with targeted and strategic end users and end user organizations in Canada.
  • Undertake product and market research as requested by senior management.
  • Participate in events and shows that offer direct access to and with the professional / industrial end user community in Canada.
  • Keep accurate records of call activities and sales successes related to target products and/or brand conversions.
  • Prepare monthly reports on activity, sales, etc.
  • Actively solicit, support and work with strategic dealers on joint sales calls and other initiatives resulting in mutual benefit to the dealer and Makita Canada.
  • Provide product training and demonstrations to end users and end user organizations as required.
  • Other job-related activities, duties, and projects, as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) year of related experience in product demonstration or sales preferred.
  • Valid/Current Drivers Licence with clean driving record/extract required.
  • Communication Skills: excellent communication (oral and written) in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Fluent in English
  • Interpersonal skills: relate well with people, active listener and collaborator.
  • Teamwork: works cooperatively and effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Detailed Orientation: meticulous about managing your time, evaluating your priorities, and accomplishing your goals.
  • Proficient in MS-Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Mechanical aptitude with solid knowledge and use of power tools.
 
Travel:
 
  • Extensive travel throughout the province and some nationally required.
  • Overnight travel will be required.

Service Centre Assistant – Burnaby, BC

As an Assistant in our Factory Service Centre you are responsible for the front counter customer service including; sales of accessories and parts, answering customer inquiries, receiving power tools for repair, providing information to customers concerning the diagnosis, cost estimates (as required) and shipping various Makita power tools and equipment. 

Service Center Assistant – QC x 2

As an Assistant in our Factory Service Centre you are responsible for the front counter customer service including; sales of accessories and parts, answering customer inquiries, receiving power tools for repair, providing information to customers concerning the diagnosis, cost estimates (as required) and shipping various Makita power tools and equipment. 

Manager in Training (Factory Service Centre) - Burnaby, BC

As a Factory Service Centre Manager-in-Training, you are responsible for supporting the manager with the daily operations and managing the Factory Service Centre in the absence of the Manger. 

Service Technician – Les Saules

You are responsible for assisting customers with repairs of our products/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools, supporting the sale of accessories, and parts, as well as answering general product questions.

Service Technician – St Leonard

You are responsible for assisting customers with repairs of our products/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools, supporting the sale of accessories, and parts, as well as answering general product questions.

Senior Manager, Information Technology

The Sr Manager IT will report directly to the Assistant General Manager and will be responsible for managing the department, technology planning, information systems and infrastructure, IT and information security. 

IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician will provide remote and onsite user support for electronic devices such as laptops/desktops, mobile devices, video conferencing equipment, and printers.
