General Manager – Rocky’s Restaurant & Marina

The Manager will report directly to the Executive Director and will work towards the efficiency and profitability of the business. The Manager will also ensure consistent high-quality customer service is provided in all departments of the business. The manager will be responsible for leading restaurant operations with a focus on beverage, hospitality, service and culinary. The manager will hire, train and inspire the people that make Rocky’s Restaurant and Marina standout. Success will be measured by consistent financial results, exceptional guest experience and the team’s growth and development.
 
In addition to all managerial duties, the Manager will market initiatives and undertake direct marketing efforts to general new business opportunities including community events, hunting and fishing packages, etc. The manager will organize, direct and coordinate the employees and resources of the restaurant, gas bar, store and the cabins for efficient, well prepared, and profitable service. This position may include nights and weekends.
 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Create a supportive, safe environment for team members to grow and develop
  • Ensure compliance with all employment policies
  • Manage performance of team members, including conducting performance evaluations, training, coaching and discipline
  • Work in collaboration with cooks to plan menus that are flavourful and popular with customers as well as efficient provisioning and purchasing supplies
  • Supervise operation of the bar to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to alcoholic beverage regulations
  • Supervise the dining room, store, gas bar and kitchen staff to ensure consistent high-quality preparation and service is provided
  • Resolve customer complaints about any division under this establishment
  • Administer and monitor the financial program and/or system in order to ensure that the First Nation finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable systems to ensure complete and accurate records of all monies, from each division under Rocky’s
  • Manage the weekly payroll in order to ensure that employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide efficient and effective office management
  • Experience ordering and monitoring supplies and ensuring appropriate product inventories are in place
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including ability to give directions, converse with customers and communicate with suppliers
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Education in hotel/restaurant management will be considered an asset. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety required.
  • Knowledge of taxation issues in relation to First Nation and non-First Nation customers and employees is required.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to make the business prosperous and profitable.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient with the use of computers, including Microsoft office suite, internet and email.
  • Experience in the food services industry
  • Experience in customer service and people management
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including ability to give directions, converse with customers and communicate with suppliers
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Experience ordering and monitoring supplies and ensuring appropriate product inventories are in place

Public Works Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Public Works Manager is responsible for safe and efficient supervision of the daily operations, including manpower and equipment, to ensure cost-effective delivery of roads services within their defined area, in accordance with applicable legislation, corporate policy and objectives.

Band Representative

This position requires the incumbent to advocate, represent registered and affiliated First Nation members that are involved with any and all Child Welfare Agencies throughout Canada.

The manager will be responsible for leading restaurant operations with a focus on beverage, hospitality, service and culinary. 

Line Cook – Rocky’s Restaurant & Marina

The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner.

Server – Rocky’s Restaurant & Marina

The Server will be responsible for providing consistent high levels of customer service to all restaurant patrons by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.

Community Health Nurse

The Community Health Nurse will actively provide services and care to Wahnapitae First Nation members, both on and off reserve.
