General Trainer

Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the General Trainer will perform his/her duties as a member of the Training Department and collaborate with other departments of the mine. The General Trainer plays an important role in performing good practices in planning, delivering, documenting and tracking the required trainings and evaluations (Career Path and General Training), as well as bringing expertise advice to any training content development. He/she will also participate in some community relations activities such as site visits and career fairs. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
 
  • Prepare and assist in daily morning meetings with the training team;
  • Deliver training programs related to Health & Safety, equipment and processes;
  • Plan and organize employee evaluations with the concerned department;
  • Regularly follow-up on the employees’ performance by attending meetings with the concerned department;
  • Assess the skills of machinery operators (evaluation for candidate selection, assessment for class change, evaluation for employee promotions); 
  • Ensure a thorough verification, application, and development of training content based on procedures, rules and regulations;
  • Work in accordance with training standards established within the company;
  • Track and update employee training data by using the different training platforms;
  • Document and provide information to be shared with the cross-shift and supervisor.
 
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
 
  • High School diploma;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a trainer in a similar industrial environment;
  • Heavy equipment operator experience on a loader (966-980), excavator (330-345), dozer (D6), and grader (14H-140H);
  • Must have a good understanding and knowledge of operations on light and heavy equipment;
  • Mining experience would be an asset;
  • Ability to clearly present information through presentation;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.
 
Your Work Schedule
 
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities of the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
 

Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic will perform his/her duties as a member of the Maintenance Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. 

General Trainer

Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the General Trainer will perform his/her duties as a member of the Training Department and collaborate with other departments of the mine.

Organizational Development Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager of People, the Organizational Development Coordinator is responsible for developing training programs.

Underground Engineering Coordinator

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Underground Engineering Coordinator will perform his/her duties as a member of the Engineering Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. 

Open Pit Production Geology Technician

Reporting to the Open Pit Geology Coordinator, the Open Pit Production Geology Technician is part of the Geology Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine.

Energy Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting to the Energy and Infrastructure General Supervisor, the Energy Maintenance Supervisor is part of the Energy & Infrastructure Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. 

Fixed Equipment Operator

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Fixed Equipment Operator will perform his/her duties as a member of the site services departments and collaborate with other departments of the division. 

Human Resources Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Superintendent, the Human Resources Coordinator will structure, maintain and enhance the organization's Human Resources to support the Meliadine Mine.
