Sessional Teaching Positions DEPARTMENT OF GEOLOGY

The Department of Geology invites applications for sessional teaching in the September 2021 to May 2022 academic terms. The normal mode of course delivery is in-person; however, given the uncertainties inherent in the current pandemic, applicants should be prepared to teach in an online synchronous format.
 
First term: September to December 2021:
42:160 Introduction to Earth Science (lab); 42:466 Mineral Deposits (shared lab – 75 credit hours)
 
Second term: January to April 2022:
42:161 Historical Geology (lab); 42:282 Petrology (lab); 42:283 Optical Mineralogy (course and lab)
 
Spring Session: April-May 2022:
42:333 Field Geology (field instruction – 2 instructors required – 3 credit hours each)
 
Qualifications: For labs: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Geology; Master’s degree in Geology preferred.
 
For courses: Minimum Master’s degree in Geology. A successful record of teaching experience is an asset for both course and lab instruction.
 
Salary: $6252 for a 3 credit hour course / a full lab is worth 1.5 credit hours
