GEOLOGIST IN TRAINING (GIT)

Reports To: Project Geologist
Location: SPJ Project – Greater Sudbury
Education/Credentials: A degree in Geology/Earth Sciences or working towards a degree.
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: Some experience in surface exploration, with geological mapping/prospecting skills.
Pay rate: Salary commensurate with applicant’s qualifications and experience
 
Reporting to the Project Geologist, the GIT will be undertaking a support role for on-going surface exploration at the Company’s exploration projects.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Perform core logging, data entry, and interpret results.
• Assist core technicians with geotechnical logging, sample preparation, and the movement and management of core.
• Support role for geological mapping/prospecting/sampling, including taking a role in geological mapping on a property and a detailed scale.
• Update sample spreadsheets, write reports and digitize maps
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all other applicable government standards and regulations.
• Comply with Company policies and procedures.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Exploration experience would be an asset.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work alone.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good team player.
• Good attention to detail.
• Valid Drivers License
• First Aid and ATV/UTV certification would be an asset.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
 
• The role is located at the SPJ Project, which is approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
• 5:2 schedule – subject to change based on Company’s exploration requirements.

PROJECT GEOLOGIST

Reporting to the CEO, the Project Geologist is responsible for planning, supervising, and reporting various exploration activities, managing field operations and training, mentoring and managing staff.
CORE TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Project Geologist, the Core Technician will support exploration by handing, processing and sampling/cutting of diamond drill core, doing basic labour work and actively supporting field mapping and prospecting programs.
GEOLOGIST IN TRAINING (GIT)

Reporting to the Project Geologist, the GIT will be undertaking a support role for on-going surface exploration at the Company’s exploration projects.
EXPLORATION GEOLOGIST
