Mobile Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for providing equipment availability in a safe, cost, effective and timely manner. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that all employees working under them work safely and efficiently. They are responsible for carrying out the planned maintenance set before them by the mobile maintenance process owner in a mutually agreed upon time frame, as well as coordinate with the production department to address breakdowns.
 
Additional accountabilities include:
 
  • Promoting of IRS & ensures health, safety and environmental objectives are met, which can include monthly beat inspections, monthly crew meetings, and monthly supervisor meetings
  • Supervise the business unit’s mobile maintenance activities by optimizing material, labour and equipment use to achieve or exceed quality and production targets as well as financial objectives (cost control and reduction).
  • Supervise, direct and coach employees to ensure their maximum performance, identify and meet training needs pertaining to their job, health and safety and the environment.
  • Work with all supervisors to ensure maximum performance and efficiency
  • Perform all shift administrative duties (reports, time sheets, training, etc.)
  • Review production, quality control, maintenance, down time and statistical reports and work orders to optimally plan own activities.
  • Identify, recommend and/or implement changes designed to improve procedures, equipment performance, working conditions and product quality to maximize the unit’s efficiency.
  • Ensure employees comply with company with Company rules, policies, programs and procedures and health, safety and environmental legislation.
 
Qualifications
 
The ideal candidates must:
 
  • Be a certified tradesperson preferably in the heavy equipment field
  • Have strong practical background in all maintenance systems and maintenance planning
  • Have a minimum of grade 12 or equivalent as verified through background check
  • Critical skills include, leadership, communication, people management and development, follow-up and control, ingenuity, creativity, strategic thinking, business sense, and team player
